Roy Gray

Roy C. Gray, 84 of Ewing passed away Thursday morning at Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home in Carlisle after an extended illness.

He was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky on June 18, 1934 to the late Silas and Edith Mae Mitchell Gray.

Roy was a retired farmer, having farmed for himself and the Hammonds family for over 50 years. He enjoyed farming and fox hunting, especially on the Clay Farm.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Emma Hunt Gray and his second wife Ruby Barton Gray, two sons; Richard Gene Gray and Jamie Gray, four daughters; Linda Evans, Geraldine Bussell, Martha McIntosh and Kennitha Evans,  two sons-in-law; Eddie Bussell and Mike Evans, two brothers, Gerald Gray and Eugene Gray and one sister, Lillian McFarland. Also, one grandchild.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hammonds and her husband J. T. of Cowan and Crystal Gray of Cynthiana.Two sons, Kenny Gray and Ronnie Gray both of Ewing. One brother, Rev. Paul Gray of Maysville, Kentucky and one sister, Dolly McIntyre of Cowan.

Thirteen grandchildren, Michael (Jessica Saunders) Gray, Danielle (Jeremy) Arnold, Rebecca (Jason Mitchell) Orrand, Kimberly Bussell, Ashley (Daniel) Cline, Corey (Deana Crump) Gray, Travis Collins, Kayla (Nester Perez) Rios, Aaron (Amanda) Collins, Josh (Brittany) Gray, Emma Paige Evans, Scott Gray and Gracie Griggs. Twenty-five great-grandchildren and one expected in July. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Rev.Jerry Boling officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville is after 6:00 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers will be Josh Gray, Aaron Collins, Travis Collins, Corey Gray, Jason Mitchell and Cameron Bonta.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Gray, Taylor Mitchell, Jeremy Arnold and Daniel Cline.
