Our beautiful daughter, sister and mother, Alice Ann Shields Barton was born December 31, 1969, the daughter of John Shields and Cornia Hamilton Shields. She went home on October 16, 2026, in Maysville, Kentucky after an extended illness. 

Alice loved her family dearly and believed in a strong family bond. She enjoyed chatting with her family, playing cards, coloring on her phone, working puzzles, and baking transparent pies and peanut butter fudge. She had a love for cooking meals for her loved ones and taking care of her loving parents. She loved spending time with her grandbaby and gave her children what she could. She fought the good fight until the end. 

She was graduate of Fleming County High School class of 1988 and a member of the Bald Hill Tabernacle of God Church. Alice was a manager at McDonalds for many years. 

Alice is survived by many family members and loved ones who will deeply miss her and cherish all the good times they had. 

Alice was preceded in death by one daughter Jarrah Dailey; brother Bryan Ritchie; Maternal grandparents, Lander Hamilton and Lillie Mae Hamilton; paternal grandparents, John William Shields II and Alice Smitson Shields. 

Survivors include her parents John and Corina Shields; two children, Dalton (Kevana) Barton, and Lorina (Brittany) Moore both of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; two sisters, Melissa Ritchie and Laura (Todd) Jones both of Ewing; two brothers John (April) Shields of Dalesburg, Kentucky and Jimmy (Alpha) Shields of Flemingsburg; two grandchildren Bailee Barton and Ariah Skaggs; Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 22, 2026 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home with Brother Mike Rice and Wes Thomas officiating. 

Alice will be laid to rest in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be John Shields, Jimmy Shields, Dalton Barton, Nick Barton, Jimmy Shields II, and Landon Shields.
