Billy Wayne (Mac) McIntyre, 79 of Cowan, Kentucky was born July 6, 1945, in Fleming County, Kentucky. He departed this life August 30, 2024, in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Billy began his career with Coca Cola Bottling Company and worked there for 25 years. He made many friends along the way. He then joined his wife Judy and owned and operated Judy’s Grocery in Cowan. He also owned and operated B J’s Sporting goods in Flemingsburg. He loved people and serving his community, so he decided to open a Fish Concessions Trailer and ran that for 35 years serving at local community events.

While being out doing what he loved, people began to notice his commitment. It was then he was honored with Two Kentucky Colonel Awards from Govenor Julian Carroll and Govenor Brereton Jones.  Soon after that he was awarded the Rooster Booster Award for Fleming County.

He served on the Western Fleming Water District from June 1998 until July 2020. The compassion he had for his family, his friends and his community are the kind of memories you want to hold in your heart forever.

This man had so much love to give, and he showed it so abundantly, every phone call from or to his family made his life worth living. He was a strong man that persevered so much but never gave up and no one gave up on him. What a great legacy he made to his family, his friends and his community.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Cowan.

Surviving is his children Pam (Greg) Emmons, Melinda (Robbie) Carpenter and Beverly Strausbaugh. His Grandchildren Alexa, Ryan, Nikolas and Brie. His Great Grandchildren Alec, Cameron, Kennedy, Levi and one very special little girl.

He leaves three nephews Danny, Bobby Joe and Raymond and one niece Carolyn.

Also surviving are Clarence (Beatty) Mitchell, Brother-in-law, Brenda Hatfield and Virginia (Sue) Gifford, sisters-in-law.

Preceding him in death is his wife Judy Mitchell McIntyre, his parents Billy and Thelma Moore McIntyre, his brother and sister-in-law Doug and Dolly McIntyre. Also, a nephew Harold McIntyre and niece Karen Lyons.


Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Brother Dean Brewer and his son-in-law Greg Emmons officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation at the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville is after 5:00 P.M. Monday.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Hardin, Corey Frakes, Bobby Joe McIntyre, Danny McIntyre, Raymond McIntyre and Jason Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Beatty Mitchell, Daryl Workman, Randy Jolly, Robbie Carpenter, Greg Emmons, Ryan Carpenter, Nikolas Strausbaugh and Randy Traylor. Honorary Lady Pallbearers, Janet Wilson, Amy Mitchell Emmons, Sherri Hatfield, Carla Linville and Melissa Workman.
