Derrick Allan Watson, 31 of Ewing, Kentucky, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio from injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier in the month.
Derrick was born September 19, 1994 at Meadowview Regional Hospital in Maysville, Kentucky, a son of Tara Watson and Brian Watson.
He was a 2013 graduate of Fleming County High School. To further his education, he graduated Lincoln Tech in 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Diesel technology, where he was highly certified.
Derrick was the proud owner of Blowing Smoke Diesel Repair L.L.C where he was extraordinary in his skill.
He was the most amazing father, son, brother, and partner. He enjoyed being outdoors riding RZR’s with his two riding crews, being at the lake, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
His contagious smile, laugh, sense of humor, and superb dance skills will forever live on in the minds and hearts of those who loved him dearly.
Derrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, “Ma” Linda Watson, and his special friends Joe, Charlie, Booty and Marty Hamilton.
Left to carry on his legacy and memory are his loving mother, Tara Watson, his father, Brian (Tracey) Watson, his maternal grandparents, Sammy and Vicky Miller, his paternal grandfather, “Pa” Michael Watson, his brother, Dylan (Barb) Watson, the two loves of his life, his daughter, Raelynn Watson & life partner, Brittany Abner, his uncles, Robbie (Missy) Miller, and Michael Watson, his three step-sisters and step brother, and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Blue Licks Christian Church 10301 Maysville Road, Carlisle, Kentucky with Pastor Jeremy Cantrell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Blue Licks Christian Church is after 5:00 P.M. Friday.
Pallbearers: Dylan Watson, Dylan Armstrong, Shawn Fryman, Joshua Hope, Zack Hamilton, Andrew Morguson, Robbie Miller and Mikie Watson.
Honorary pallbearers: Robert Fite, Matthew Smith, Troy Mains, Nathan Story, Chase Brown, Jesse Flora and Preston Davis.
