Donna Kay Barnett McCord, born January 14, 1952, in Nepton, Kentucky, passed away on May 7, 2026, at her residence in Cynthiana, Kentucky. She was a devoted member of the Christian Faith and is remembered for her warmth, dedication to her family, and a life richly lived through her passions and commitments.

Throughout her life, Donna was deeply engaged in her community and family. She was a proud member of the Homemakers Club in Carlisle, Kentucky, where she contributed her time and talents. Donna found great joy in crocheting and nurturing her garden full of flowers, reflecting her love of creating beauty and comfort. She cherished her cats, delighted in cooking for her family, and most of all, treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her loving family, including one son, Danny Wayne McCord of Cynthiana; four daughters: Carol Marie Vaughn (John) of Georgia, Kathy Ann Williams (Thomas) of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Sharon McCord (Shawn Franklin) of Carlisle, Kentucky, and Lisa Kay McCord (Steven Buckley) of Paris, Kentucky; and a granddaughter she raised as her daughter, Chellsea McCord (Terry Bruce Jr.) of Cynthiana. She also leaves behind three sisters: Ethel Mers (Denny) of Flemingsburg, Kathleen Snapp (John) of Carlisle, and Dianna Mitchell of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky.

Donna’s legacy continues with nine grandchildren—Kayla, Josh, Chellsea, Andrew, Inara, Little John, James Arnold, Jacob, and Keith—and three great-grandchildren: Leeland, RheaLeigh, and Corbyn. Her partner, Bill "Billy" Vaughn, along with several other relatives and friends, also survive her, holding dear the memories and love she shared so generously.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Geneva Humphries Barnett; her husband, Wayne McCord; and two brothers, Eddie Earl Barnett and Danny Ray Barnett.

A visitation to honor Donna’s life will be held on May 12, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Price Brothers Funeral Home, located at 5197 Elizaville Rd, Ewing, Kentucky 41039. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John McQuire officiating. 

Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband Wayne in the Elizaville Cemetery

Casket bearers will be Steven Buckley, Jim McKee, Kevin Martin Jr., Terry Bruce Jr., Thomas Williams, and Danny McCord

Honorary casket bearer will be Bill Vaughn.
