Evelyn McGinnis Hunt

Evelyn McGinnis Hunt, 88, of Ewing, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 3, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born June 4, 1935 in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late James McGinnis and Lavada Barnett McGinnis.

Evelyn spent several years of her life working as a cook in the Sorrell's Resturant and also several years sewing in the teddy bear factory in Ewing. She enjoyed cooking, baking, working in flowers especially her flower beds, and watching tv. 

Evelyn was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Cowan, and also attend the Mt. Tabor Church and the Bluelicks Church.

Evenlyn married her soulmate William Alvin "Billy" Hunt on February 10, 1952.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Alvin "Billy" Hunt who passed away October 18, 2023; one son, William Ray Hunt; one brother, Jimmy McGinnis; one sister in law, Judy McGinnis.

Survivors include one brother, Freddie McGinnis of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; four special friends, Cheryl Hunt, Boone Dye, Georgia Gilvin and Pam Sale; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two great nieces and two great nephews. 

Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday November, 8, 2023 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home with Brother Greg Grimes officiating.

Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visititation will be after 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
