Joyce A. Fulton, 62, of Carlisle, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana, Kentucky surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Born on April 26, 1963, Joyce grew up in Ewing, Kentucky, where she cultivated the warmth, compassion, and strength that defined her throughout her life. A retired Licensed Practical Nurse, Joyce dedicated her career—and her heart—to caring for others. Her nurturing nature wasn’t just her profession; it was her purpose.
Joyce’s greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved. Whether she was shopping, sharing meals, celebrating milestones, traveling to festivals, or enjoying game nights, she brought laughter, joy, and a deep sense of belonging to every room she entered. She loved going to plays, meeting new people, and making lasting memories with her church family. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, inclusion, and connection.
She had a special way of turning friends into family and making people feel seen, understood, and truly valued. Her door—and her heart—were always open. Joyce lived her faith with quiet strength, guided by her love for God and Jesus. Her kindness, selflessness, and unshakable belief in the goodness of others were reflections of her deep spiritual devotion.
Joyce is survived by her devoted partner of 42 years, Frank Miller Jr. of Carlisle, KY; her loving daughters, Kim (Bill) Moore of Carlisle, KY, and Denise Tubbs of Morehead, KY; her cherished grandson Dalton (Carlee) Fry and great-grandsons Owen and Oliver Fry, with a great-granddaughter on the way, all of Flemingsburg, KY. She is also survived by her sister, Nanci Hickerson; and her brothers Glen (Cindy) Fulton of Hogansville, GA, Ray Fulton of Flemingsburg, KY, and Timmy Fulton. Two step children, Alex Marquis and Lewis Austin Bennett both of Georgetown, KY; Joyce leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Frances Fulton; her brother Terry Fulton; sister Brenda Fulton; brother-in-law James Allen Hickerson; and nephew Jonathan Hickerson.
Joyce’s legacy is one of love, laughter, generosity, and faith. She poured herself into the lives of those around her, always placing others' needs before her own. Her absence leaves a deep ache in our hearts, but her light lives on in the countless lives she touched.
