Obituary

Larry Gayle Alexander, 80 of Ewing, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

He was born April 7, 1946 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a son of the late Clarence "Red" Alexander and Florine Maxey Alexander.

Larry was a farmer and logger for most of his life. He raised farm animals, was a collector of die cast cars, a nascar driver Jeff Gordon fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandbabies. Larry was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, one great granddaughter, Leyah Underwood, three great grand angel babies, four brothers, Harold Alexander, Wayne Alexander, Benny Alexander, and Donnie Alexander; one granddaughter, Kayla Patton; and son in law, Anthony Whisman; three sisters, Melba Kerns, Joann Barton, and Thelma Whisman. 

Survivors include his wife Geraldine Watkins Alexander; four daughters, Trish Jolly (Bobby) of Nepton, Kentucky, Tina Whisman (Randall Burton) of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Robin Black (Ricky) of Fairview, Kentucky, and Erica Mitchell (Dustin) of Carlisle, Kentucky; one brother, Jerry Alexander (Dana) of Ewing; three sister, Ruth Ann Anderson (Sidney) of Carlisle, Clarine Price of Ewing, and Kay Sloan of Morehead, Kentucky; Fourteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and two great grandchildren expected soon. Also, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday June 9, 2026 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home with Tyler Hunt, Shane Hampton and Jimmy Hinton officiating. 

Larry will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Nicholas County.

Visitation if after 6:00 PM on Monday June 8, 2026 at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Jerry Alexander, Dalton Black, Jayden Watkins, Ricky Black, Dylan Jolly, and Logan Black.

Honorary casket bearers will be Brian Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell, Bobby Jolly, Gage King, James McCord, Shawn Evans, Nathaniel Thomas, and Brandon Jolly.

Contributions suggested to the Price Brothers Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses. 

All arrangements for Larry Gayle Alexander and family are under the care and direction of the Price Brothers Funeral Home, 5197 Elizaville Road, Ewing, Kentucky 41039.
