Marie Swartz, 73, of Ewing, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.

She was born on October 10, 1943 in Bourbon County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Marvin Swartz, Sr. and Dorothy Fredrickson Swartz.

Ms. Swartz was a retired operating room technician at Fleming County Hospital and Meadowview Regional Medical Center and she had also owned and operated a Private Care Home.

She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a graduate of Fleming County High School.

Marie was very active in her church and she enjoyed playing golf, watching game shows, yard work, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

She absolutely loved to talk and visit with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Swartz, Jr. and Billy Paul Swartz.

Survivors include one son, Charles Ray Barnett of Morehead, one daughter, Paula (Kirk) Flora of Elizaville, three step-sons that she raised, Eric Clark, Aaron Clark and Kelley Clark. One brother, Dennis (Doris) Swartz of Georgetown, two sisters, Betty Jo Coppage of Cynthiana and Carolyn Barnett of Indianapolis, Indiana, six grandchildren, Tyler (Rachael) Barnett, Chandra Barnett, Cody Barnett, Amber Stephens, Casey Flora and Aliesha Flora and one great-grandson, Jacob Edmond.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Wiley and Bill Leet officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dean Barnett, Doug Barnett, Marty Swartz, Billy Swartz, Darrin Swartz and Michael Sutton.

Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M Sunday at the church.

Contributions are suggested to the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund.
