Mary Dale McIntosh Hughes, 84, of Nepton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 19, 2025.
She was born August 29, 1941, in Fleming County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ora Dale and Eunice Staggs McIntosh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Howie Vice; her brother, John Thomas McIntosh, and his wife Sara; and an infant sister, Judy Ruth McIntosh.
Mary Dale graduated from Fugazzi Business College in Lexington, Kentucky, where she earned a business degree that served her well throughout her career. She worked as a paralegal for McDonald & Walton Attorneys in Flemingsburg, where she was admired for her professionalism and dedication.
She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats, treating them as members of her family. Her compassion extended beyond her home into her community, where she volunteered with the Kindred Spirits group, served as a former member of the Ewing-Fleming County Fair Board, and supported local youth as a Fleming County Little League booster. She also enjoyed running her own home frame shop, a creative endeavor that brought her much joy.
Mary Dale was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Julie Vice Morris (Mark) of Nicholasville, Kentucky; Angela Hughes Stice (Jim) of Maysville, Kentucky; and Natalie Hughes Keller (Eric) of Owensboro, Kentucky. Her beloved grandchildren include Justin Morris (Nikki), Owen Stice, Tyler Stice, Ryanne Keller, and Ethan Keller. She also leaves behind several extended family members and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Pastor Adam Gulley officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her son, Howie, in Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Price Brothers Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers Mary wishes were for donations to be made to Alley Cat Allies (alley cat.org) , Best Friends Animal Society (best friends.org)
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Morris, Dustin Brewer, Chopper Pollock, Jeff Vice, Sonny Kegley, and Danny Staggs. Honorary pallbearers will include Coach Mike Reitz, Justin Morris, Justin Morris, Owen Stice Tyler Stice, Ryanne Keller and Ethan Keller.
