Opal Carpenter

Mrs. Opal Hunt Carpenter, 80 of Mt. Tabor Rd, Ewing, passed away Wednesday evening, March 28, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on February 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Avery Fleming Hunt and Elizabeth Earlywine Hunt.

Opal was a homemaker. She enjoyed Cooking and Canning, writing poems, watching QVC Network, and was an avid collector. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Edward Carpenter, three sisters, Anna Gray, Emma Gray and Joy Mitchell. Three brothers, Avery Estill Hunt, David Hunt and Steavie Hunt. Two grandchildren, Heather Love Carpenter and Timbo Mitchell.

Opal is survived by her children, Beverly Smith and her husband Miller of Ewing, Kentucky, Robin Mitchell and her husband Timmy of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Timmy Carpenter and his wife Amy of Ewing, Libby Lane and her husband James of Decatur, Tennessee, Kim Baker and her husband Randy of Manchester, Ohio, Avery Carpenter of Ewing, Robbie Carpenter and his wife Melinda of Cowan, Kentucky and Steavie Carpenter and his wife Becky of Ewing. One Brother, Rocky Hunt and his wife Teresa of Flemingsburg. Two sisters, Hazel Kerns of Flemingsburg and Carolyn Pollitt and her husband Leo of Flemingsburg. Also surviving, Nineteen grandchildren, Fourteen great-grandchildren, Five step- grandchildren and Five step great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 31,2018 at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Ewing with Rev. Greg Grimes, Rev. Dean Brewer, and Rev. Keith Abrams officiating.

Visitation at the Church is after 11:00 A.M. Saturday.

Pall Bearers will be Rocky Hunt, Leo Pollitt, Ora Mack Harding, Virgil Harding, Jim Carpenter and Roger Carpenter. Honorary Bearers will be Randy Baker, Timmy Mitchell, James Lane, Miller Smith, Billy Wayne McIntyre and Billy Grover Money.
