Robert Garrison, Jr.

Robert E. (Bob) Garrison, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Ewing Baptist Church in Ewing, Kentucky. Pastor Chip Pendleton will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ewing Baptist Church after 12 Noon, Monday and until the hour of service. Bob was born August 2, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia to Robert E. Garrison and Mary Stone Garrison. He was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia and served in the U.S. Naval Security Group from 1965-1969. He received a bachelor's in Business Administration from Virginia Tech in 1973 and a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from the Medical College of Virginia in 1976.

Bob had a quality often hard to find in Hospital Administrators, which was an earnest love for living, working and being an active part of smaller communities. Throughout his 30 year career in hospital administration, he helped provide financial turnaround for a number of rural hospitals in Kentucky, Alabama, Colorado, Kansas and Missouri. Being active in a variety of professional organizations was important to Bob, and he served on the boards of numerous community agencies and chaired multiple state hospital association councils.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia and his sons; Michael Stone Garrison (Natalie Straub) of Alexandria, Virginia, Loren Armstrong Garrison (Heather) of Carmel, Indiana, Evan McComb Garrison (Giles) of Richmond, Virginia, and his step-son Isaac Blake Carpenter of Louisville, Kentucky: Three Grandchildren; Andrew, Austin and Ashley Garrison of Carmel, Indiana, hs brother, James Stone Garrison (Virginia) of Temple, Georgia and former wife Lynn Dee Garrison of Chester, Virginia.
