Sue Clary Florence

Sue Clary Florence, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky, just days before her 84th birthday. Born on June 4, 1941, in Mason County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Robert and Sally Clark Clary.  Sue led a life rich in love, community, and dedication to her family.

A graduate of Fugazzi Business College in Lexington, Kentucky, Sue began her career in accounting at Randall-Textron in Flemingsburg before later taking a position at Total Care Pharmacy, also in Flemingsburg. Her work ethic and keen attention to detail were reflections of her character—qualities that will be remembered fondly by her colleagues.

Sue was a long-time member of the Nepton Methodist Church, where she and her husband, Marcus G. Florence, marked their status as among the oldest members. Nothing brought her more joy than decorating her home inside and out for Christmas. She enjoyed the Christmas holiday and cherished time spent with her family.

Sue had a passion for flowers and gardening, finding joy in nurturing the beauty of nature. She also loved to travel and indulge in her favorite television shows, often sharing those moments with her family, who were central to her life. She also enjoyed playing horseshoes and won several tournaments throughout the years. She was known as the Randall-Textron Horseshoe Champion.

She is survived by her husband, Marcus G. Florence whom she married, July 6, 1962. Two sons: Michael Florence and his wife Mary Ann of Flemingsburg and Mark Florence of Elizaville. One daughter Lisa Florence and her husband Joe Trimboli of Huntington, West Virgina. One sister, Patty Clary of Flemingsburg. Two grandchildren Garren Florence and Gillian Florence. Two nephews, Troy Crump and Truitt Crump and one niece, Heather Crump. Also, several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 2, 2025, in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Brother Todd Wiley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation for Sue will be held on June 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Sue Clary Florence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those whose lives she has touched with her kindness and warmth.
