Tracy Tilton Hammonds

Tracy Tilton Hammonds, 60, of Cowan, Kentucky, passed away on August 10, 2023, with his family at his side at Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

He was born April 7, 1963, in Governors Island, New York, to Joseph Tilton "J.T." Hammonds and the late Beverly Brogan Hammonds.

Tracy was an avid collector, a hard-working tobacco farmer, and a skilled wood craftsman. A 1981 graduate of Fleming County High School and a member of the Green River Archaeological Society, Central State Archaeological Society, Appalachian Foothills Artifact Collectors Association, and the Genuine Indian Relic Society.

He enjoyed walking fields looking for arrowheads, digging for bottles, woodworking in his shop, and spending time with his family.

Tracy was married to his devoted wife, Debbie Oliver Hammonds of Cowan for 33 years.

He is also survived by his son, Chase Tilton Hammonds of Cowan; nephew, Robert Joseph Hammonds (Emily) of Acworth, Georgia; brother, Richard Hammonds of Cowan; sister, Lori Alderman (John David) of Dover, Kentucky; brother, Scott Hammonds (Stephanie) of Athens, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday August 15, 2023 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home with Brother Greg Grimes, Rev. Sammy Harris and Rev. Greg Tucker officating. 

Tracy will be laid to rest alongside his family in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation will take place at 5:00 P.M. on Monday evening, August 14, 2023

Casket bearers will be, Cliff Campbell, Randy Walker, Hayden Bybee, Tim Young, Lyle Smith, and Monty Pennington.

Honorary casket bearers will be, DJ Dailey, Donnie McCord, Charles Mattox, Daryll Miller, Johnny Jett, Julio Contreras, Mike Powers, Ronnie Fern and Randy Hunter.

All arrangements for Tracy Tilton Hammonds and family are under the care and direction of the Price Brothers Funeral Home, 5197 Elizaville Road, Ewing, Kentucky 41039.
