Wayne Gray

Wayne Gray, 75, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg after a brief illness. 

He was born September 4, 1948 in Cowan, Kentucky, to the late Oliver Gray and Alva McGuinn Gray. 

Wayne enjoyed fishing, golfing, horse races, watching his sons work on old cars, and enjoyed playing the guitar and country music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. 

As a child Wayne attended the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Cowan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  three brothers, Carl Gray, Paul Gray, and Jackie Swinehart; one sister, Elsie Jones; and one daughter-in-law, Deborah "Debbie" Lou Fleming Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Walling Gray, whom he married on December 11, 1965; two sons, Sammy Gray and his wife, Stephanie of Flemingsburg and Chris Gray of Orlando Florida; one brother, Layne Gray of Fairview, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Daniel Gray and his fiance, Tiffany, Andrew Gray, and Bailey Brannon; special niece, Cassandra Dryden and her children, Burkley, Landry, and Heys; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 8, 2023 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home with Brother Greg Grimes officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitiation is after 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Sammy Gray, Chris Gray, Daniel Gray, Andrew Gray, Darrin McIntyre, Derrick Dryden, and Matt Grimes. 

Honorary casket bearers will be Layne Gray, Letcher Walling, Beatty Mitchell, and Timmy Gray.
