William Ray "Billdo" Hughes

William Ray "Billdo" Hughes, 71, of Ewing, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

He was born April 23, 1952 in Breathitt County, Kentucky.

Everyone around town knew Billdo for riding his bike all around. He enjoyed working on the farm, collecting knives and lighters, hunting, and of course his bicycles. 

Billdo was preceded in death by the two people who raised him and whom he considered his parents, James "Popeye" Helton and Patsy Tumey Helton. 

Survivors include his siblings, Lawrence Helton, and Donna Caudill both of Ewing, Dennis Helton (Darlene) of Paris, Kentucky, and Patty Hughes of Ohio; Special nieces and nephews, Savannaha Caudill (Robert Brewer), Waylon Caudill, Drew Martin (Caitie) and Cory Martin, and his special friend, Lisa Fagen of Ewing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville.

Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Mt. Tabor.

Visitation is after 10:00 A.M Saturday at the funeral home. 

Casket bearers will be Lawrence Helton, Donald Feeney, Waylon Caudill, Robert Brewer, Wayne Dugan, and Douglas Rains.

Honorary casket bearers will be Dennis Helton, Charles McCord, and Roger Ruark.
