Billy Gene Cox, 73, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born on September 20, 1946 in Nicholas County, Kentucky, a son of the late Adrian and Lottie Mitchell Cox.
Billy was a retired tobacco farmer and fence builder.
He enjoyed coon hunting, horse riding, camping and spending time with his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Mitchell Cox, five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Robin Howard and her husband, Derwin of Ewing, two sons, Chris Cox and his wife, Cyndi and Brian Cox and his wife, Ashley all of Carlisle, one brother, Malcolm Cox and his wife, Faye of Carlisle, one sister, Margaret Cox of Carlisle, twelve grandchildren, Allison Howard, Austin Cox, Lauren Cox, Ryan Cox, Scott Cox, Remi Cox, Allison Hammonds, Kelli Hammonds, Joe Hammonds, Derek McGlothin, Graceland Lukat and Anthony Parrella and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2019 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville with Brother Tommy Fern officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Keith Cox, Justin Cox, Andrew Cox, Tony Watkins, Marvin Watkins and Derwin Howard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Workman and Charles Ishmael.
