Ersill Masters

Aurora, Indiana

Fleming County native and long-time Aurora, Indiana resident, Ersill Ray Masters, 75, was called home to the Kingdom of heaven on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

He was born in Fleming County on April 10, 1946, to the late Willard Vernon Masters of Morehead, Kentucky and the late Elizabeth Mae Mitchell Masters Earlywine of Flemingsburg, Kentucky.  He was the step-son of the late Lewis Paul Earlywine of Fleming County, Kentucky.

Ersill served proudly in the United States Army, where he served in Fort Benning, Georgia.  After leaving the service, he worked as a very skilled stone mason and carpenter.  He was also a Car Salesman.  Ersill would often fix cars up and then turn around and sell them for a profit.

He enjoyed drag racing, building hotrods, and making money.

In addition to his parents and step-father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Shirley Gene Masters, nephews, Terry Freeman Gallagher and Ryan Beach Earlywine and brother-in-law, Lawrence Freeman Gallagher.

Survivors include his three sons, Jerry Ray Masters and his wife, Kim of Rising Sun, Indiana, Allen Masters of Norwood, Ohio and Brian Masters of Aurora, Indiana, three sisters, Bonnie Masters Gallagher of Ewing, Anita Earlywine Hall of Flemingsburg and Renee Earlywine of Ewing, one brother, Marty Carol Earlywine of Ewing, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, seven nephews and three nieces. He was loved and respected by many more.

Ersill will truly be missed and loved by all.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 18, 2022 in the chapel of the Price Brothers Funeral Home in Elizaville, Kentucky with Rev. Greg Grimes officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Mt. Tabor.

Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the W. N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5, Franklin Sousley VFW Post No. 1834 and the United States Army.

Visitation at the Price Brothers Funeral Home is from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers include; Jerry Masters, Allen Masters, Brian Masters, Rick Boswell, Marty Earlywine and Kyle Masters.
