Wilma Riggs

September 20, 1957 — April 16, 2017

Wilma Jean Riggs, 59, of Ewing completed her journey and went to be with The Lord on April 16, 2017 at the Kenton Pointe Hospice of Hope Center in Maysville.

Wilma was born September 20, 1957 in Hamilton Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Charles “Bear” Walden Sr. and Catherine Lee Fields. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Walden.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary Riggs, whom she married on August 8th, 1981, one son Chris (Lacey) Riggs of Ewing, and one daughter Tiffany (Michael) of Ewing. She was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Camryn, Jessica, and Evan Riggs. Other survivors include two sisters, Sue Allison of Blue Licks and Peggy Dollar of Cincinnati, Ohio, two nephews, George Walden and Larry Sirk, and two nieces, Tracy Walden and Linda Keeler.

Wilma was a line attendant at Mitsubishi. Her favorite hobbies were reading and spending time with her family. She was a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. She also enjoyed sewing as that was a skill she mastered while working at Jockey International until it closed. Wilma was a member of May's Lick Baptist Church.

Wilma never met a stranger, she was always so kind and caring and befriended anyone she encountered. There are so many friends we would like to name but there are some family members we would like to mention, Beverly Hehner (Thelma and Louise), Sherri Heminger, Kristi Rosenbaum, Evelyn White, and Brenda Jones. The family also wants to give special thanks to Shirley Hinton for being there throughout Wilma’s journey, and the entire staff at Kenton Pointe Hospice of Hope for the excellent care they provided Wilma.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mays Lick Baptist Church. Burial services will begin at 2:00 PM on Wednesday April 19th, 2017 at May's Lick Baptist Church with burial at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Ewing, Kentucky with Pastor Kevin Cornette officiating.
